Google has been revamping the design of their calendar interface among others. I know graphic designers love white space, but I'd like to be able to see my events:
Both Danielson boys are back on the blogs the same day, I love it!
I agree, this is essentially unusable in its current form. I keep hoping to find a better calendar than the one I use for work (because it requires both a Blackberry and Lotus Notes), but none of the ones I have found for phones or computers works as well and is as readable.
Glad somebody out there still has my blog in their feed reader. BTW, it was great to see you and the girls a few weeks ago!
Re: Google calendar: A month like this July (with 6 calendar weeks instead of just 5) is worse than usual, but I can still only see 2 events per day in August on my laptop screen.
WRT integrating “information that’s been buried on Place pages … across all Google platforms” the first thing that comes to mind is coupons/offers. I can see how they would integrate offers more widely.
For example, anytime I do something that indicates my location to Google (post on Google+, check in with Latitude, leave a review in Places, do a search from the main web search, etc.) they could now show me “Offers Nearby” similar to how Foursquare does it. The big difference between Foursquare and Google, of course, is that Google’s audience is magnitudes greater (especially considering main web search).
I guess they could also integrate “photos from nearby businesses” in the image search results and “videos from nearby businesses” in video results and YouTube, but that doesn’t seem as natural of a fit.
